Sealed proposals will be received on behalf of the City of McKeesport, 500 Fifth Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132 until 10:00 AM on October 22, 2009. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately thereafter.
PUBLIC MEETING AUDITORIUM – PHASE I
The project consists of a new single story municipal auditorium space, approximately 3,500 SF. The building is to be contiguous with an existing six-story municipal office building, on a parcel of land reclaimed from an existing municipal parking lot. The building project includes the following features: 125-seat municipal council chamber with lobby, public toilets, and council conference room; 250 SF mezzanine containing ventilating and air conditioning equipment; single-ply thermoplastic roof with vegetated topping and public access; courtyard and garden on ground level; rainwater scupper and below-grade sump; geothermal heating and cooling system with in-slab hydronic heating; provisions for an audio-visual presentation system. The principal structure is to be masonry bearing wall on a shallow foundation system supported on engineered fill. The roof is formed of pre-cast pre-stressed concrete planks.
Plans, Specifications, Form of Contract, Instructions to Bidders, and Proposal Forms may be obtained at the City of McKeesport, Office of the City Clerk, 500 Fifth Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132 (412) 675-5044. A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 will be required for each set of the contract documents. Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons whose name and address are on record with the City of McKeesport as having obtained the contract documents.
Bids must be submitted on the forms furnished by the City of McKeesport and must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, in the form attached to the Contract Documents, in the amount of 10% of the bid made payable to the City of McKeesport. All envelopes containing bid proposal shall be clearly marked "Proposal for PUBLIC MEETING AUDITORIUM – PHASE I
Bidder shall comply with all state and federal laws prohibiting discrimination in hiring or employment opportunities.
Attention is called to the fact that compliance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry Prevailing Minimum Wage Predetermination will be required.
The City of McKeesport reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all proposals, or any part thereof.
