Sealed proposals are invited by the Elizabeth Borough Municipal Authority, 1 Locust Street, Elizabeth, PA 15037 for the following work:
"Hauling and proper disposal of anaerobically digested sludge from Elizabeth Borough Sewage Treatment Plant on a periodic basis for the period January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 with optional extensions for 2011 and 2012".
The proposals will be received until 11:00 AM prevailing time on November 4, 2009 and publicly opened immediately thereafter.
The proposal may be mailed in sealed envelopes to EBMA, 1 Locust Street, Elizabeth, PA15037 or delivered to the EBMA sewage treatment plant between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Each envelope shall be clearly marked "BID FOR: REBID SLUDGE HAULING AND DISPOSAL". Also, the name of the bidder shall be shown on the envelope.
Copies of Specifications, Instructions to Bidders, Forms of Proposals and Contract are on file and open to public inspection at the office of Senate Engineering Company, U-PARC, 420 William Pitt Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15238 Phone (412)826-5454 where sets of said documents may be obtained for a non-refundable deposit of $15.00 per set. Bids must be submitted only on these documents.
To receive consideration, proposals must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or Bid Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania made to the order of Elizabeth Borough Municipal Authority, in the amount of $5,000.00 as guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, the successful bidder will enter into a contract after notice of award of said contract.
All bids will be addressed to "Elizabeth Borough Municipal Authority", and shall remain firm for a period of 60 days. No bidder may withdraw his bid during the 60 day period, without forfeiting his bid guarantee.
The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, for any reason and also reserves the right to waive any informality therein.
